How Much Do Custom Curtains Cost?

How much do custom curtains cost? What drives the price, how to calculate what you need, and how to see the exact price for your window.

Custom curtain prices vary because the panels are made to your exact size. A small bedroom window costs less than a wide living room window, and the price scales with the fabric you are covering. Here is how to think about it.

What drives the price

The two main factors are width and length. A wider panel uses more fabric. A longer panel uses more fabric. Multiply the two and you have the area, and the area is what you are paying for.

The number of panels matters too. Two panels for a single window costs less than four panels for a wide bay window, even if the total coverage width is similar, because each panel has its own seams and finishing.

Fullness adds to the cost

Fullness is how much wider the fabric is than the space it covers. At 1.5x fullness, a 60-inch coverage width needs 90 inches of fabric per panel pair. At 2x fullness, it needs 120 inches. More fullness means more fabric, which means a higher price. But fullness is also what makes curtains look luxurious rather than flat, so it is worth the difference.
